3) How are the two related?

    What is a ratio?
    the quantitative relation between two amounts showing the number of times one value contains or is contained within the other.
    Is a comparison of two quantities.

    What is a proportion?
    A proportion is a part, share, or number considered in comparative relation to a whole. Two equals ratio for a Proportion.

    What is a proportion?
    Proportion says that two ratios (or fractions) are equal.
    Ex: 1/3 = 2/6

    How are the two related?
    Ratio are use to compare values. They tell us much of one thing there is compared to another. Proportions are related to a ratio in that they tell you when two ratios are equal to each othet.

    A ratio shows the relative sizes of two or more values.
    Ratios can be shown in different ways. Using the ":" to separate example values, or as a single number by dividing one value by the total.

    What is proportion?
    The idea of proportions is that a ratio can be written in many ways and still be equal to the same value. That's why proportions are actually equations with equal ratios

    A proportion is a name we give to a statement that two ratios are equal. It can be when two ratios are equal , then the cross products of the ratios are equal.

    we learn that ratios are value comparisons and proportions are iqual ratio .Ratio s can be written with colons or as a fraction .
